Russia’s Navy Receives Newest Russian-Built Oceanographic Research Vessel

The Russian Navy has received a brand new oceanographic research vessel, the Yantar, which is equipped with two self-propelled deep submergence vehicles; the ship was built at the Russian Baltic shipyard of the same name, Yantar, and is slated to be used for deep-sea research and rescue operations.

On 9 April 2015 a naming ceremony was held in South Korea for SCF Mitre, the fourth vessel in a series of state-of-the-art Atlanticmax-type LNG carriers built for Sovcomflot (SCF Group).


Icebreaker Murmansk for the Russian Ministry of Transport launched today at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard

The 16 MW Icebreaker for the Russian Ministry of Transport was launched at Arctech Helsinki Shipyard on March 25th, 2015. Before floating the vessel, she was given the name ceremonially by breaking of a champagne bottle on the bow of the vessel. The ship was named by the Godmother of the vessel Marina Vasilyevna Kovtun, the Governor of the Murmansk Region, who wished the best of luck for the Murmansk icebreaker.


LUKOIL closes deal to enter project off Cameroon

LUKOIL closed a transaction to enter a project to develop the Etinde block offshore the Republic of Cameroon in the Gulf of Guinea (West Africa).


Novatek catches interest in Murmansk

Novatek, Russia’s second biggest gas producer, has bought a piece of land by the Kola Bay where it intends to build a plant for construction of concrete modules for offshore platforms, regional Minister of Transportation Dmitry Sosnin told journalists.


Another shipment from Prirazlomnaya

The shipment, the first in 2015 and the fifth since project startup in December 2013, has been delivered to buyers in Europe. The oil, a total of 70,000, was shipped by the “Mikhail Ulyanovsk”, Sovcomflot’s tanker built for the Prirazlomnaya project.


Application for Russia’s Arctic shelf claim out on tender

The Ministry of Natural Resources has announced a tender on edit of the application for extension of the Russian shelf in the Arctic. The tender, which has a 120 million rubles (€1.65 million) price tag, closes on March 13, RIA Novosti reports.
